Effect of Highland Cultivation and on the growth and Flowering of Cymbidium Mini Dream ¢¥ Golden Color ¢¥ During Summer Season

Abstract
This experiment was conducted to compare the growth and flowering of Cymbidium early flowering variety Mini Dream ¢¥Golden Color¢¥ by cultivation at lowland (Pusan) and highland (Mt. Kaya, 850m elevation) from June 20, ¢¥93 to September 17, ¢¥93.
The average temperature and humidity of highland during experiment period were loweras 4¡É and 2% but daily temperature fluctuation during day and night and average amount of insolation were higher as 2¡É and 23.3 §º/§²/day compared with lowland. The leaf length and fresh and dry weight of pseudobulb of leadbulb were suppressed by highland cultivation but the content of total sugar and starch and dry weight rate of pseudobulb were increased. Flower bud formation and development were accelerated and rate of flower bud aboration was decreased by highland cultivation. The plants were flowered 17 days earlier than those of lowland cultivation.
